Meet our providers

Lisa King, MD

Dr. King joined Highlands in August 2020. She is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Biochemistry. She attended medical school at Mercer University School of Medicine, and completed her residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, Navicent Health in Macon, GA. While in residency, Dr. King was awarded the excellence in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She became a first-time mom in April of 2020 to a baby girl! Dr. King is very passionate about women’s health and was drawn to the field by how multifaceted it is and the ability to develop long-term relationships with patients through all different aspects of their lives.

Matthew Smith, MD

Dr. Smith is a graduate of USC School of Medicine and completed his residency at Greenville Memorial Hospital. He believes it’s important to always have compassion for others. Dr. Smith does not consider being an OBGYN as a job but rather a calling to serve others. He loves being involved in his church. He enjoys running, hiking, and traveling with his family. Dr. Smith has completed over 13 mission trips, which include going to Vietnam, Romania and Honduras.

Sara Ruiz, MD

Dr. Ruiz received her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. She attended Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for residency. Dr. Ruiz prides herself on staying current in her field to provide the best possible care. Her mission is to empower women to prioritize their health. As a mom herself, she believes there is nothing more special than bringing new life into the world! She enjoys spending quality time with her family and some of her favorite activities include hiking, visiting parks, traveling and playing board games.

Tracy Moister, PA

Tracy has an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Georgia and attended Physician Assistant School at the Medical College of Georgia. Tracy loves connecting with other women and helping them feel comfortable discussing personal issues. Tracy’s own experiences have allowed her to connect to her patients in a personal way. She understands how important it is to feel like you’re being heard and validated during difficult times and she strives to bring that to all of her patients. She enjoys spending time with family, cooking/baking, hiking, camping, sewing, knitting and reading.
